Program Overview
Based on the book, Holding Space: A Guide to Mindful Facilitation, by Nebo Founder and CEO Kate Ebner and Izzy Martens, the Holding Space Certification Program is an advanced course that prepares practitioners and leaders to facilitate and convene others in a way that is intentional in design and transformational in nature. This engaging and instructive series equips participants to convene and facilitate complex topics and important meetings with compassion, skill, confidence and flexibility.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop and describe your personal approach and philosophy as a facilitator, including your authentic presence
- Create a personal mindfulness practice which you will use throughout your facilitation journey and beyond
- Expand your self-awareness so that you can be more effective in your work with others
- Design and host dynamic, distinctive virtual and in-person meetings and gatherings
- Organize and structure the flow of a meeting or conversation to ensure that a group’s objectives are achieved
- Learn how to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all
- Gain knowledge of how to plan a smooth-running and impactful event – and what to do when things do not go according to plan

Format
- Eight, 3-hour virtual live modules taught by Kate Ebner, Raven Rankine and guest instructors
- Pre-recorded introduction and featured videos throughout the course to deepen learning and provide additional insight in key areas
- 1-1 mentoring from program instructors
- Resource toolkit designed for the program
- Access to learning portal with all resources and program materials
- Practicum experience to allow you to try the concepts and learn by doing (includes 3 or more hours of facilitation and presenting what you learned to cohort-members in the final session)
- Holding Space Certificate awarded upon completion of course requirements

Requirements
- Attendance at 8 live modules
- Assigned reading for each module from Holding Space: A Guide to Mindful Facilitation (provided)

- Journaling (journal provided)
- Practicum (selection of 3-hour opportunity to practice concepts and share own learning with cohort, no grading)
